Discovering Your Intercultural Competence
The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) helps you reflect on how you experience and respond to cultural differences.
It explores your approach along a developmental continuum, from overlooking or judging differences to understanding and adapting to them.
Your results offer a starting point for recognising your current approach and identifying steps to grow in intercultural competence.
Taking the Assessment
As you respond, think about how you usually experience and respond to cultural differences, rather than how you believe you should respond. Draw on real experiences, including situations where you felt unfamiliar, uncomfortable, or misunderstood. Follow the instructions provided with the inventory and answer as honestly as you can.
The IDI is a tool for development. Your results help you understand your current approach to cultural differences and identify opportunities for growth. They do not define your personality, measure your worth, or determine how you will respond in every situation.
