Discovering Your Conflict Style
The Intercultural Conflict Style (ICS) Inventory helps you reflect on how you communicate during disagreements.
It explores two dimensions: how directly or indirectly you express concerns, and how openly or quietly you show emotion.
Your results offer a starting point for understanding your habits and how others may experience them.
Taking the Inventory
As you respond, think about how you usually behave during conflict, rather than how you believe you should behave. Draw on real experiences, including situations where you felt frustrated or misunderstood. Follow the instructions provided with the inventory and answer as honestly as you can.
There is no ideal conflict style. Each approach can be helpful, and each can create misunderstandings when others expect a different response. Your results describe tendencies; they do not define your personality or predict how you will act in every situation.
